Working Capital

Working Capital Accelerator Working Capital is the Telecom Italia program started in 2009 to support Italian innovation ecosystem with two main goals: looking for young entrepreneurial talents and helping them to create new web and tech companies.

Working Capital has given his strong contribution to the take off of a vibrant innovation ecosystem in Italy from 2009 until 2013 and through this project Telecom Italia is fostering the new entrepreneurship in Italy, focusing on the digital space, helping startups to grow and bring their value in this arena. Working Capital is a world class performer in community building, in its ability to attract business ideas (>5,500 received so far) and in the number of events run. Indeed it has supported more than 140 startups with: 79 grants, 36 startups pre-incubated and other 19 ones financed and incubated. Furthermore, in order to support the launch and development of startups, Working Capital has entered in more than 15 partnerships with main players in the innovation ecosystem. In 2013 Working Capital has opened 3 new accelerators inside the most interesting cities (Rome, Milan and Catania) of the Italian startup ecosystem, now it’s accelerating 15 startups and has assigned a grant each one. In April 2013, during the 40 days of the call to action, Working Capital has been able to collect 1200 projects.
